Private?!
Hey friends. Happy Friday to you and I hope you have a great weekend. So, I'm considering going private on my blog. I really don't want to because it's kinda a pain for readers and I honestly don't mind random bloggers reading my posts. I'm the queen of blog stalking, so I can't hate on others for doing it! I'm just a little concerned about the creepers out their and who knows when they might find my blog and do something... well... creepy, for lack of a better word. Also, I REALLY want to do some venting about some stuff that's going down at work, but without knowing who my audience is it's probably not wise. Thoughts? Should I go private?

Hi, my family's been telling me to go private for ages, but the point of having a blog is for everyone to read it.....people u know and don't know.....this is a wonderful blog, and to think of it, if u'd gone private, i would never have had the opportunity of reading and would have missed out on something interesting. I'll always maintain:don't go private.if thats what you want to do, why have a blog? might as well just write a diary.
depends on your desired audience I think. I'd be fine logging in. But, I know you and would not be part of a larger audiene. To whom do you want to vent? (I'd like to hear the stories
Is it possible to make some posts private and others public?
I am sad to hear about what happen with your student. It scares me to think about my students when they get older. I think it would not be a bad thing going private. As a teacher you never know what people will interpret as inappropriate and then try and get you in trouble. If friends and family really want to see your blog, they will log in and it isn't a big deal.I hope things are going well.
You don't know me, but I really enjoy your blog. I'm sorry for what happened to your student. You are one of my favorite bloggers, and I'd hate to think of you going private. I'm not creepy, I promise. ;) Just some random gal from Arkansas. If you do go private, best of luck to you and your fiancee. Hope the wedding goes well. And by the way, the dress you picked is beautiful.
All my best,
Michelle Churchill
personally I would be very sad to see you take this blog private. I have been visiting and reading for months. However, it is certainly your choice and if you would feel better doing so, and if it would allow you more opportunity to discuss topics you don't feel comfortable talking about when everyone can read, then you do what feels right.
I had hoped to follow your story of this wonderful engagement of yours, all the way to the wedding, but honey you do what is right for you.
Hello! - I am also one of the readers out there who you don't know but i've been enjoying your blog. I love the photos you post and reading about what you and your fiance and your family are doing. I am going through many changes in my life too, so it's fun to read about other peoples' experiences. I hope you don't go private, but I agree that the post you made about your student can sometimes be skirting the line of whether it should be public or not. I would suggest that if you want to express things like this on your blog, wait until *after* everything has transpired, and then make a post based on your best judgment. I personally found your post sad and disturbing but eye-opening as well. It's important for people to know that this sort of thing happens, and I for one had no idea! I hope to continue to read posts from you, but if that won't be possible then know that I wish you the very best for the most amazing wedding and married life possible! :)
Hi DeeDee
One disadvantage of going private is that I can't read you in a feed reader anymore - which is how I stay up to date with all my blogs.
Another option would be to get more anonymous. But that would mean switching a lot of blog information (URL, Name of Blog, Profile) and you'd probably lose your readership.
I'd say wait a bit - see if you can manage without going private. People love reading you!
Don't do that! :)
I've neglected blogspot.com for a while and now I'm pretty upset to have come across this post. I understand Your hesitation, it's always weird to send Your feelings fly on the Internet. But I guess most of the readers take the posts how they are, not attempting to trace the 'real' part of You. So perhaps if there's no sign of someone manically collecting data about You, why closing one of the Blogs of Note for the eyes of random readers? I'll be happy to be able to read a post every so often.
Hi Dee Dee,
This is Kim Kinson (jones) remember me?! I love your blog. I found it through Jenye Vela's who has Anne on hers. I just wanted to say hi and congrats on getting married! I hope all is well. xoxoxo Kim
